Alice Ryan
Creative Associate
Alice Ryan is an American cellist, arts administrator, and interdisciplinary collaborator. Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, she is currently based in Ohio, where she is pursuing her Master of Music in Cello Performance. Alice brings a passion for community engagement and organizational leadership. She spent three years working in St. Olaf College’s Music Organizations Office and worked for two summers with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood. A committed collaborator, Alice is especially interested in projects that bridge artistic disciplines. She has co-created events with award-winning poet and environmental essayist Laurie Allmann, combining music, literature, and activism. She has also partnered with the Lindsey Vonn Foundation to promote equity and visibility for young women in the arts. Alice is an active freelance performer and dedicated cello instructor, with a strong belief in making music accessible to every community she works with. She recently graduated cum laude from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance. While at St. Olaf, she served as principal cellist of the St. Olaf Orchestra for two years, performed in the Høyde String Quartet, and collaborated with numerous chamber and large ensembles. Her recent mentors include Mina Fisher, Professor Anna Clift, and Dr. Sarah Kim.
