An ICI Initiative

Gender inequality in the arts has always been an issue and while many women cellists pursue brilliant careers, their accomplishments have not been enough to radically change the dynamics in the cello world. Hence, it is of utmost importance to provide a strong voice and supportive environment for Women in the Arts to grow, thrive, and fulfill their potential.

The idea of an organization to benefit women cellists was conceived by Anna Clift. The C’ELLE initiative was created by the women of ICI - cellists, performers, and educators - who strongly believe that the world of music should be more diverse and inclusive. We strive to empower women cellists of all ages to increase their voices and presence in the field of music.
