Dayoung Park

Dayoung Park is a South Korean cellist and devoted chamber musician known for her expressive playing and collaborative spirit. She made her solo recital debut at age fourteen and has since performed at festivals such as the Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival, Decoda Chamber Music Institute, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Lyra Music Festival, and Euro International Music Festival in Spain.
A passionate chamber musician, Park is the cellist of the Evergreen Quartet, which was awarded second place at the Briggs Chamber Music Competition at the University of Michigan. She is also a founding member of the Esoteric Ensemble, a string quartet based in Illinois, which was invited as a resident artist ensemble at the Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival.
Park has been a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the New York Youth Symphony and currently serves as acting assistant principal cellist with the Missouri Symphony Orchestra.
She holds a Master’s degree in Cello Performance and Chamber Music from the University of Michigan and earned her Bachelor’s degree and Performer’s Certificate from Northern Illinois University. Her previous teachers include Julia Minjung Kang, Paul Katz, Cheng-Hou Lee, and Amir Eldan. She will begin her Doctor of Musical Arts studies as Tom Landschoot’s teaching assistant at Arizona State University this fall.
