Founded in 2010, the International Cello Institute is a globally recognized summer music program with outstanding faculty. Our curriculum is designed specifically for cellists to immerse themselves in an intensive learning experience. The ICI program is uniquely personalized and comprehensive, dedicated to the advancement of each cellist who attends.
Our students work with the world’s most acclaimed pedagogues and soloists, and every one of our students is given equal access and opportunity to participate and receive instruction from all of the faculty. Lifelong learning opportunities and friendships are made at ICI, as we foster and encourage a strong sense of community and collegiality.

FEES
Priority Application Fee: $50 (December 1st - December 31st, 2025)
Standard Application Fee: $75 (January 1st - February 15, 2026)
Tuition: $4,250 for 3 weeks (includes room and board)
Security Deposit: $500 to secure your place. This deposit is non-refundable and will count towards your general tuition.
Cancellation Policy: Application fees and security deposits are not refundable. Cancellations after May 1, 2026, will not be considered for any refund amount.
ICI 2026 Curriculum
Private Lessons: Individual lessons will be scheduled throughout the three weeks of the program. Teachers will also have open lessons, which will be available for anyone to sit in during an appointed period of time. All accepted participants will receive 5 lessons with different teachers during their three weeks at ICI.
Masterclasses and Open Lessons: Formal performance and instruction opportunities with piano.
Specialized Workshops: Workshops will be offered to cellists on technique, score reading, etude study, the art of practicing, and efficient management of time. All workshop facilitators will encourage student participation and involvement.
Piano Rehearsals and Coachings: Receive specialized attention and coaching with ICI’s Collaborative Pianists to help you gain valuable insight into the cello/piano repertoire.
Student Recitals: These are scheduled for Friday nights, with the addition of a Chamber Recital and two Grand Finale recitals at the end of the program.
Chamber Music: Every ICI student will be assigned to a small and a big chamber music group. Work with our innovative staff who bring valuable insight into collaborative playing.
Outreach Concerts: Learn what it means to be involved in the community by performing and promoting the arts. Receive coaching to improve your public speaking skills and learn how to connect with audiences.
CelloSide Chats: Informal and interactive gatherings between faculty, staff, and students about teaching, being an artist, and managing a performance career in this current environment.
Mentorship Opportunities: opportunities are available to mentor our iConnect students (cellists ages 9 through 15).
